Meet Dr. Gary Norwood

From his origins working as a physical training instructor, Dr. Norwood, now an internationally acclaimed therapist, realized the importance of massage therapy in correcting and maintaining physical function. He studied massage therapy at the NSW College of Naturopathic Sciences and began treating sports and general injuries. In the mid 1980’s he studied acupuncture and Chinese medicine, which enabled him to treat a wider range of problems more effectively.

Dr. Norwood began specializing in pain & injury management. He treated many sports-related injuries, alongside workplace injuries and chronic degenerative conditions. From operating his own practice in Melbourne in the 1980's, Gary provided services for clinics in Port Douglas QLD and Airlie Beach, before opening his practice in Springwood, Brisbane in the 1990s.

Gary left Australia in 1998 and worked at the famous Spa Hotel in Palm Springs, California, and afterwards was therapy director at the St Regis resort in Aspen, Colorado. He then worked at the Boca Raton Resort in Florida and ran his own clinic in that area for the next ten years. He passed national board examinations in acupuncture, Chinese medicine and therapeutic massage and bodywork which made him a D.O.M — Doctor of Oriental Medicine. During this time he studied Biopuncture at the University of Miami and attended seminars with Dr. Jan Kerschott, European physician who specializes in Biopuncture. This technique was then added to Dr. Norwood's treatment regimens.

With over 40 years of treating and relieving chronic pain, Dr. Norwood’s impressive treatment success rate is over 80%.
